Mellow tracks in their programming, TakeNote's first-rate leads keep the Life's a Pitch explodes with undeniable attitude and a perfect Unnatural as the vocal percussion may sound to purists, itĬompares favorably to any programmed drum machine on the radio today, an effect that furthers TakeNote's songs and arrangements. Technology is clearly the former, an excellent and necessary element of Know-how, each group must make its choices wisely. It's a little rough looking in the picture- 2 days after I got it, but it's healed beautifully. It also, to me, symbolizes life- for every little disappointment, there's something bigger and better coming. Music is an incredibly important part of my life- I'm in my university's marching band and am involved with a lot of other music related things, and I can't imagine my life without it (hence the treble and bass clefs- they're both important to me for different reasons). Even today, after having heard it a million times over, it is the only song that can make me cry over and over- especially this line. The version that I first fell in love with, though, was not Leonard Cohen's.it was by a female acappella group at Clemson called Takenote. Why I got it: first of all, this song has obviously been covered by everyone ever. I also felt that "the minor fall and the major lift" sounded awkward without the first half of the phrase. I got "the minor fall, the major lift" instead of "the minor fall and the major lift" because it appealed to me more aesthetically than having the and in the middle. I had been debating between getting this or an Alice in Wonderland tattoo (the first verse of the Jabberwocky), but ultimately decided on this because I've been sitting on the idea for a few years and felt that it was the right time to get it done.
